The NHL officially released their 2011-2012 team schedules today, and even though it was all but confirmed before today, the Rangers will officially open their season with two games in Sweden against the Los Angeles Kings and Anaheim Ducks in addition to playing the Flyers in the Winter Classic on Jan. 2, 2012.

The first two games of the season in Sweden will take place on Friday, Oct. 7 and Saturday, Oct. 8. The Rangers' first U.S. game will be on Saturday, Oct. 15 against the Islanders in Long Island. The Rangers first home game won't come until Thursday, Oct. 27 against the Maple Leafs because it's expected the Garden will still be undergoing construction once the season begins.
The last game of the season comes against the Capitals on Saturday, April 7 at MSG.
