Drury Not Placed On Waivers Yet, Must Be By Tomorrow To Be Bought Out

According to Steve Zipay on Twitter, the Rangers have not placed Chris Drury on waivers yet, which they must do before buying him out.  Zipay said that tomorrow is the last day the Rangers have to place Drury on waivers, otherwise he won't be able to be bought out.

2011-2012 NHL Schedule Released; Rangers to Open Season in Europe

 The NHL officially released their 2011-2012 team schedules today, and even though it was all but confirmed before today, the Rangers will officially open their season with two games in Sweden against the Los Angeles Kings and Anaheim Ducks in addition to playing the Flyers in the Winter Classic on Jan. 2, 2012.

Flyers Clean House; Trade Mike Richards and Jeff Carter, Sign Bryzgalov

 The Philadelphia Flyers had an eventful day today to say the very least. After dealing their leading goal-scorer, Jeff Carter, to the Columbus Blue Jackets earlier in the day, they then traded team captain Mike Richards to the Los Angeles Kings and capped their day off by signing goalie Ilya Bryzgalov to a huge nine-year, $51 million deal, TSN confirmed.

Rangers-Flyers Will Headline 2012 Winter Classic in Philly

The New York Post is reporting what has been rumored for a while now - the Rangers and Flyers will face each other in next year's Winter Classic from Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia on Jan. 2, 2012. The NHL will confirm the announcement once the 2011-2012 team schedules are released, which is rumored to be sometime this week

Report: Jaromir Jagr to Sign with NHL Team "In the Next Week or So"

 It's sounding more and more like Jaromir Jagr's return to the NHL is going to happen this offseason. Jagr's agent, Petr Svoboda, told the AP today that he has been talking with both the Detroit Red Wings and Pittsburgh Penguins about signing Jagr and that he believes Jagr could sign a one-year deal "in the next week or so."

Report: Rangers Can't Buy Out Chris Drury

A bit late on this one, but Larry Brooks of the New York Post reported yesterday morning that the Rangers will not be able to buy out the final year of captain Chris Drury's contract because of of a possible career-threatening knee injury that Drury currently has. But ironically enough, it sounds like this could actually help in the Rangers' pursuit of Brad Richards this offseason.
